Quite a long time ago, not long after a chiropractor designed this, through MY chiropractor I got the Stick. I believe this was long before they added rubber/plastic grip handles on the ends for more comfort. I have been using it off and on since I got it. I recently had a partial knee replacement. To my surprise, the most pain I was experiencing was behind my knee and up my hamstring into my glute. My non-surgical leg was also feeling some discomfort. I understand this was all due to my muscles getting retrained. I started using my stick 2-4x a day working on both legs as aggressively as I could, before each exercise period (2) and immediately after awaking in the morning. It has definitely helped loosen things up, helped reduce pain and enhance healing, as was my expectation. As I age, this has become even more important in my comfort, and I am anticipating I'll be using this almost daily from this point on. A few weeks ago I purchased a smaller, travel-size stick to take with me on a vacation. The size, weight, and quality is what I hoped for, and will easily find a place in my packs. When not on vacation, I'll keep both on active duty in different areas of our home. Oh, my wife also used these ... as do our sons with they visit. Probably Christmas presents, this year...
This was saving my heel pain, and possibly avoiding a bone break!! I was instructed by my Chiropractor to use it a few times per day, and so I rolled it up and down the back of my calf in repetitions of 25; after that, the muscle sensitivity was reduced, and the related heel pain was gone!

Having the ability to quickly roll the muscles in my legs is really nice. This 14" version isn't super long but it's surprisingly effective. I ended up getting a longer one after trying this. It works well.

I purchased the Travel sick in the red color to carry with me on airline travel. I ran the Disney Princess 10K and Half-Marathon weekend in February. About 4 miles into the Half my left calf tightened up. I was able to walk/jog to the finish. I went to the medical tent at the family reunion area and let the PT know what happened. She immediately said get a stick and showed me how to use it. She applied it to the back of my left calf and within 30 seconds she had worked out the tightened muscles. I was back to normal. So, I am now a believer! For the record, if I had run with a stick I bet that I could have worked out the tightness on the course and still had a good race. Live and learn. The stick now goes with me when I travel. Perfect size for the suitcase. My calf muscle thanks me and you will thank yourself too once you use a stick.
This is a great tool and has helped me out tremendously, I recently tore my calf muscle and this in conjunction with rest and my doctor this muscle roller has sped up my recovery time. I'm excited to get back out and start running again!
Works great for working out tight muscles. I keep it at my desk and helps with my hamstrings when they're tight. The length is perfect for travel and I've taken it internationally, fits perfect in my luggage.
